Coursework - Film Opening Planning - Influences

When looking for ideas for our film opening, we found this video.
The video uses a reverse effect to create interesting shots and it intrigues the audience.
We decided to take the idea of reverse cam and put it into our film opening,

We decided in our film opening that we would burn photographs. Due to this clip's influence we decided to film the burning photographs in a reverse effect. This creates an interesting shot and make the titles of the film more interesting for the viewer to watch.

Another influence was the film Gone Girl. This film is about a woman who fakes her own murder but blames it on her husband.
The film intrigued us because the idea of a missing person is an original idea and it can involve lots of different genres and it can be manipulated into fitting most narratives.

Another influence for the film was American Honey. This is a new film, that evolves around a girl joining a group of people and traveling the country selling magazines and getting into trouble.
We liked this influence because it shows the more harsh side of running away and how people can be twisted into people they are not when facing different/traumatic experiences.
