Purge Study

The film 'The Purge' is a dystopian horror. It is set in America in 2023, and the film shows the twisted ideas of the government attempting to lower crime rate in the country. The film is centred around one summer night when all crime, including murder, is legal for 12 hours. The film shows one wealthy family and their  attempt at surviving the night.
This film shows unedited violence, including murder and people enduring horrific bodily injuries. The genre of the film is horror due to the violence and the suspense created but it includes aspect of thriller due to intense scenes and jump scares. It is mainly aimed at people who don't mind violence and enjoy the thrill of suspense.
